Inner Truth – Version 1.6 Release Notes

This time, it’s a relatively large update with many new features and improvements.

【New Features】

  • Breathing loop during cutscenes
    When the game waits for text input, characters will now breathe naturally.
    The stiff stop-motion feel was hurting immersion, but this should improve it.

  • Camera shake added when taking damage
    This makes battles feel more dynamic and satisfying!

  • Cancel button now works on multiple windows

  • Updated tasks after the kidnapping event

  • Save & Load from the menu screen restored
    It was disabled due to stability issues, but it has been restored in this update.
    We’d love to hear your thoughts on how it feels.

【Improvements & Fixes】

  • Adjusted the cursor so it now stays in place when selecting buttons with a controller.

  • Fixed issue where UI elements overlapped and the controller could select the button behind

  • Adjusted Inventory menu so that selecting “Send” now displays a description

  • Fixed cases where “Current Objective” did not match the actual story progression

  • Shadow Resolution setting replaced with Cast Shadow toggle
    It seems the resolution setting wasn’t applying properly, so it has been changed to a toggle for enabling/disabling shadows.

  • Disabled Anti-Aliasing setting
    Same as above—looks like I need to study URP a bit more.
    Currently, shadow resolution is fixed at 2048 and Anti-Aliasing at x2.

  • Improved Brightness setting

  • Fixed an issue where Machiko’s unarmed attack cost was doubled
    Damage origins now change depending on the attack animation

  • Fixed minimap arrow disappearing after loading

  • Fixed NPCs sometimes facing the wrong direction or shifting position after loading

  • Fixed enemy buffs disappearing when enemy NPCs were loaded

  • Fixed controller not responding on the initialization screen

  • Improved ease of selecting character icons in the Inventory

  • Fixed character portraits not updating when clicking Inventory icons

  • Adjusted ally Opportunity Attacks to trigger more reliably

【Known Issues & Future Goals】

  • Sub-events implementation
    Planning sub-events where Machiko and Kochō temporarily join the party.

  • Issue where Opportunity Attacks cause characters to sink into the ground
    Couldn’t reproduce, but the character was turning vertically during the process of facing the attacker.
    Vertical rotation has been restricted, but if the issue persists, reports would be greatly appreciated.

  • Save point and Talk interaction overlapping
    Some measures have been taken, but it still occurs occasionally.
    A more reliable fix is planned for the next update.

  • Bug that allows climbing ladders indefinitely under certain conditions
    A larger collision prevented it for adult Tsubaki, but child Tsubaki could still slip through.
    As a workaround, characters will be unable to move for a short time after grabbing a ladder.

  • Early-game guidance and a more intuitive tutorial

  • Auto-advance and backlog functions for the VN sections

  • Collision adjustments for allies during battle

  • Status-effect popups sometimes remaining indefinitely

  • New enemies, items, and more
